Team Development

Consultation: Our Program Director will consult with your Head Coach (or Team Manager) to understand development objectives and needs. We can finalize finances and agree upon dates and times at this time.

Program Development: Our first on-ice session will include an evaluation based on our internal level system. Our assessment will become the basis of a customized program for the remaining on-ice skating lessons.

Program Roll-Out: To effectively implement the agreed-upon training program, we will provide ongoing communication to the coaching staff. Modifications can be made based on the improvements and needs of the players as well as requests made by the coaching staff.

• When working with teams, we aim to maintain our 6:1 student to coach ratio, depending on the number of players on your team.
• We highly recommend members of the coaching staff listen to the skating lessons to reinforcing our technique throughout the season.

At the PowerSkating Academy, we have two options for team training. The first option is, hire us to teach your team on your practice ice AND the second option is, your team travels to one of our ice times during a session.

Option 1: If you are looking for us to take over all foundational development roles of your team. When you hire us to teach your team, we will send three coaches who will focus on all technical aspects of hockey. Your team will be divided into groups and rotate through the three sections: one group will learn stride foundation, one will be introduced into edge skills from figure skating, and the third will have their hockey skills reinforced.

Option 2: If you are looking for our team to strictly teach the skating side of hockey, or ringette. We will hold a specific number of spots on one of our class times.  You can either have your team enroll individually or through the team manager. Our coaching staff will instruct your team based on our methodology. This option more resembles one of our Power Skating or Master Power Skating classes.
